Gualaceo Square

This project was my thesis work on undergradute school. We were looking for a city that could be interested to build a project with us and Gualaceo City gave us that opportunity. They had a controversial site where one day was a market, the site is in the heart of the city next to their main church. The problem was identifying that to do with that site without any use. Through our investigation we found the city has many things to show in its surroundings but people do not know about it. Our proposal brings all the most interest things in the city to its urban heart. The project acts as an exhibition and commercial space of the most interesting things that they develop manually.

Through this project we were capable to develop a new economic model to Gualaceo. In this project, we evoke its rivers with water foun- tains, and the old market that one day work on that site with an outdoor coffee shop. After years of use, we can say our economic model and cultural space is successful and people are proud of use it because it reflects their identity.
